We believe in excellence in everything we do but for our clients’ peace of mind, we are also subject to a range of independent, external controls to maintain our high standards.
Audit regulation
We are registered to carry on audit work by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), which means that we are subject to monitoring visits, typically at six-yearly intervals for a firm of our size. We have always retained our registration.
Fee protection insurance
We offer insurance to our clients that will cover the cost of our fees when acting on their behalf in an HM Revenue & Customs enquiry.
Financial services work
Our financial services work is carried out by our sister company LRH Wealth Management Limited. To ensure that we meet the standards laid down by the Financial Services Authority for our financial services advice, we have retained specialist consultants 360 Services LLP to monitor our procedures at regular intervals during the year and to provide technical support.
Our complaints procedure
We have a robust complaints procedure, which is laid out clearly in our engagement letters/terms of business with clients.
Practice Assurance
The ICAEW began operating its Practice Assurance scheme a few years ago, to monitor firms’ compliance with good practice. This operates at similar intervals to the ICAEW audit regulation visits and our only visit to date was successful.
Professional ethics
Our contracts of employment require all staff to comply with the ethical guidelines laid down by the ICAEW.
UK200Group membership
In 1986, we became a founder member of the UK200Group of independent accountants. To remain as a member, each undergoes an annual external review, covering all aspects of professional work (except financial services). We have always met the standards required to remain as members.
