Fundraising day in aid of rescue team
Halifax-based firm of chartered accountants, Lambert Roper and Horsfield, is holding a special fundraising event in aid of a local search and rescue team who played a vital role attempting to save the life of a former partner of the firm.
Retired LRH partner, John Taylor, sadly died of heart failure whilst out walking with his partner Jeannette and a friend to Bronte Waterfalls in Haworth last month. A team of volunteers from the Calderdale Valley Search and Rescue Team and paramedics at Yorkshire Air Ambulance did their best to resuscitate him, but unfortunately he could not be saved.
In a bid to repay the efforts of those involved, LRH is holding a special day where staff can pay to wear casual clothes, and bake cakes to buy and sell in order to raise much needed funds. There will also be a raffle with the best cake as the prize.
Keith Lyons from LRH, said: "The search and rescue team and the air ambulance paramedics were brilliant in their efforts to save John and their support of his partner Jeannette was second to none. We are delighted to be able to respond even in this small way in an effort to increase funds available to them."
