Accountants beat credit crunch gloom with charity golf day
These gloomy economic times have had many of us dreaming of breaking out of the office to spend the day playing golf instead, but Lambert Roper and Horsfield is actually doing it.
The firm is organising the 2009 Halifax Rotary Charity Golf Competition on Thursday, September 3, with all of the proceeds going to local good causes.
They organise this event on an annual basis and have seen it flourish over the years.
And as the uncertain economic climate tries to take all the fun out of the working day, the firm have attempted to raise a smile by reducing the price of entry to £160 for a three-player team. If you are an early bird you can play for £100, as long as you tee off between 9.00am and 10.30am.
“This is always a good day out and it helps some very worthwhile causes through the Rotary,” said David Roper, director at Lambert Roper and Horsfield Limited.
“It has been a lean year for many businesses, but we’d hate for people to miss out. We’d like to give our thanks to West End Golf Club who have been kind enough to host our event once again, and to Yorkshire Bank for agreeing to be our main sponsor again.
“Whatever 2009 brings, let’s enjoy our golf, and do some good for charity at the same time.”
