Accountants Hold Expert Business Seminar
Halifax-based firm of chartered accountants, Lambert Roper and Horsfield (LRH), is to provide local business owners with expert advice on the complex, and often risky issue of buying and selling businesses, during an in-depth seminar to be held in May.
The seminar - ‘Buying and Selling a Business’ - will include informative presentations from LRH directors, David Roper and Nick Frost, and will look at the main issues to be aware of when exiting or entering a business.
Tips and advice will be given on how to get a business in shape prior to sale, how to finance the purchase of a business, how to deal with and understand the tax and accounting implications involved, as well as an expert overview of the legal aspects and potentials pitfalls of both processes.
There will also be an opportunity for a question and answer session to allow attendees the chance to gain more specific information.
LRH director, David Roper, is optimistic about the event. He said: "This is an excellent time to be looking at buying or selling a business. There is a little more confidence in the market, there is some funding out there, but prices are more realistic. Plus, for the seller who can afford to be patient, it is a good time to prepare a business for a management buyout or a third party sale, ready for when the market has risen further."
The event will take place on Tuesday May 18 at the Lambert Roper and Horsfield offices, The Woolcombers Mill, 12-14 Union Street South, Halifax, from 8am for breakfast, with a view to commencing the seminar at 8.30am and concluding at 9.30am.
